Britain’s Ambassador to Egypt reaffirms his country’s position on mercenaries and foreign forces in Libya.

Cairo, The British Ambassador to Egypt, Gareth Bailey announced that the position of the United Kingdom on the Libyan crisis is crystal clear, and aims to hold the Libyan elections on the agreed date on the 24th of December.

The British ambassador said in an interview with the Egyptian TV channel “On” the United Kingdom calls, in a clear position, for the exit of mercenaries from Libyan territories, to create conditions that will help to complete a political and electoral process that will be secured by the Libyans themselves.”

Ambassador Bailey stressed that Britain has an important and special role diplomatically towards the Libyan crisis, and since the United Kingdom has a role in the Security Council, it will mobilize the Council to produce a diplomatic draft that helps the Libyan people move forward, which is a great responsibility that we bear on our shoulders and it is a very important responsibility.

House of Representatives participates in parliamentary meeting on occasion of the UN Conference on Climate Change.

Glasgow A House of Representatives delegation led by First Deputy Speaker Fawzi Al Noueiri and member of the Legislative and Constitutional Committee, Ramadan Shambesh and Chief of Staff Abdullah al-Masri are taking part in the parliamentary meeting in Glasgow, UK, held on the occasion of the UN Climate Change Conference.

The meeting is organized by the Inter-Parliamentary Union in partnership with the British Group of the Inter-Parliamentary Union and is discussing role of parliaments in the course of cop 26 with the aim of using their parliamentary powers to implement the results of the conference. The meeting also addresses parliamentary work to reach national goals and increase government accountability, as well as the role of parliaments in financing climate-related activities, and the issues such as losses and damages, measures and ways to address the inevitable effects of climate change.
