Devolution of Authority to Municipalities Discussed at Ministries of Employment and Local Government Meeting.

Tripoli, A meeting which brought together Ministers of Employment Ali Al Ridh and Local Government Badr Iddin Al Toumi focused on devolution of authorities to the municipalities regarding the employment and professional training.

Employment Ministry sources said an agreement was signed by the Ministries of Employment and Local Government on launching a campaign of inspection for violations at work places, both in the public and private sectors in all municipalities under supervision of the Ministry of Employment.

President of the Presidential Council arrives in Tripoli after participating in meetings of UN General Assembly.

Tripoli, The President of the Presidential Council, Mohamed Al-Manfi, and his accompanying delegation arrived in Tripoli, Monday, from New York, after participating in the meetings of the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

Representatives Moussa Al-Koni and Abdullah Al-Lafi and the Prime Minister of the National Unity Government, Abdul-Hamid Al-Dabaiba, were at the forefront of his reception at Maitiqa International Airport.

The Chief of the General Staff, Major General Mohamed Al-Haddad, the Deputy Chief of the Presidential Council’s Office, a number of ministers, mayors of municipalities, and a number of dignitaries from various regions of Libya also participated in the reception.

The President of the Presidential Council had delivered a speech before the United Nations General Assembly, during which he stressed the unity and stability of Libya, work to achieve national reconciliation, respect human rights, and move towards holding free and fair elections.

US Ambassador Reiterates his Country’s Main Goal in Libya.

London, US Ambassador and Special Envoy to Libya Richard Norland said ‘US main goal in Libya is to help Libyans conduct free elections whose results accepted by the wider society, and to assist in withdrawing of all foreign fighters from Libya, Russian and Turkish alike.

In an interview with the London-basedAl Sharq Al Awsat newspaper, Norland said ‘withdrawal of fighters and foreign forces is goal shared most Libyans’, indicating that this is provision implied in all agreements and international conferences convened on Libya and also in the international resolutions including Security Council Resolution No. 2570.

The US Envoy sees that ‘the way to pursue this goal remains a Libyan task and a priority for the Libyan authority, and that the US will continue work with Libyan and international partners to achieve these goals. Libya deserves to retain its sovereignty, he said.

He ruled out a new government to substitute the Government of National Unity.
