112th Session of the International Labour Conference Opens in Geneva


Geneva, The 112th Session of the International Labour Conference (ILC) 2024 opened today in Geneva and will continue until June 14th. Over 5,000 representatives of governments, employers, and workers from the organization’s 187 member states are attending the conference.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s delegation to the conference is headed by the Minister of Human Resources and Social Development, Eng. Ahmed bin Sulaiman Al-Rajhi.

The 112th session will discuss several issues, including the situation of workers in the occupied Palestinian territories, decent work and the care economy, the protection of workers from the effects of climate change and biological hazards, the organization’s work agenda and budget, and the election of its Governing Body members for the period 2024-2027. Additionally, the inaugural forum of the Global Coalition for Social Justice will be held during the ILC. The Alliance is a multi-stakeholder initiative led by the International Labour Organization (ILO) to accelerate progress tow
ards sustainable development goals and promote social justice worldwide.
