The Public Prosecution orders the imprisonment of the Minister of Education on the back of the textbook crisis.

Tripoli The Public Prosecutor, “Al-Siddiq Al-Sour” today, Monday, ordered the detention of the Minister of Education, “Musa Al-Maqrif”, pending investigation, following the textbook crisis.

The Attorney General’s office said on its Facebook page that the Minister of Education was imprisoned on the grounds of his negligence in performing the duty assigned to him, practicing mediation and favoritism, and violating the principle of equality after expressing the ministry’s desire to contract the printing and supply of the textbook.

He explained that the Public Prosecutor directed the initiation of investigation procedures for the purpose of clarifying the circumstances and circumstances that accompanied the contracting procedures to print and secure the textbook, and to clarify the reasons that prevented it from being provided within deadlines that do not clash with the dates set for the beginning and end of the school year.

He added that, accordingly, the Public Prosecution member began the investigation procedures, which he initiated by hearing the testimony of the Minister of Planning and a number of those in charge of conducting the educational process, interrogating the Minister of Education, among several other procedures.
