The Minister of Interior discusses with the Ambassador of the European Union the file of illegal immigration

Tripoli, Minister of Interior “Khaled Mazen” met today, Monday, with the Ambassador of the European Union, “José Sabadell”, the security and counter-terrorism official, Colonel “Amunoli” and the political advisor at the mission, “Andrew”.

The Ministry of Interior said on its Facebook page that the meeting was held in the presence of the director of the security planning department in the ministry, Major General “Jamal Safar”, the director of the Department of Relations and Cooperation, Dean “Salah al-Din bin Suleiman”, his deputy, Dean “Jalal Howaidi”, and the head of the performance evaluation and follow-up office, Brigadier General Suleiman al-Baroni. And Colonel Abdul Jalil Bate is a member of the Central Committee.

The ministry indicated that the meeting comes within the framework of the meetings that the minister is conducting related to resolving some important and urgent files, on top of which is the illegal immigration file, and its repercussions pose as a security challenge for the Libyan state and the countries of the union.

The Minister of Interior stressed the development of a joint strategy for cooperation with the European Union for the year 2022 regarding security cooperation and the files supported by the Union in accordance with the agreements and memoranda of understanding signed between the two sides.

For his part, Sabadell expressed his understanding of what the Minister of the Interior presented, stressing that the European Union is fully prepared to work according to the common strategy.
