President of the Presidency Council Receives Invitation to Attend Paris Conference Next November.

Tripoli, President of the Presidency Council Mohamed AlMnefi met the French Minister of Foreign Affairs Jean-Yves Le Drian and his accompanying delegation, participating in the Libya Stabilization Conference.

The meeting focused on holding of presidential and parliamentary elections, the success of the comprehensive national reconciliation project, and strengthening of stability in Libya.

The President of the Council welcomed the French delegation participating in the work of the ministerial conference, stressing the importance of concerted international efforts to end the current phase by holding presidential and parliamentary elections simultaneously, in order to achieve the aspirations of the Libyan people to reach lasting stability.

The French Foreign Minister said he was delighted by the level of security and safety in the capital, Tripoli, and the stability he witnessed, and the return to normal life throughout the country, since the new authorities took over the leadership of the country, namely the Presidency Council and the Government of National Unity. He said he hoped that the presidential and parliamentary elections would be held on set time.

The French minister presented an invitation from French President Emmanuel Macron to the President of the Presidency Council, to visit France next November, to attend an international conference to be held in the capital, Paris, at the level of world heads of state and government, and aims mainly to discuss the best ways to remove mercenaries and foreign forces from Libyan territories.
