President of the Presidency Council Meets Spanish Foreign Minister, expresses appreciation for Spanish Support of political Solutions to Libyan Crisis.

Tripoli President of the Presidency Council, Mohamed Al Mnefi received on Thursday Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Spain José Manuel Albares in the presence of the Spanish Ambassador to Libya, “Javi Larracci”, and the Spanish delegation participating in the ‘Libya Stabilization Conference’.

The meeting discussed developments in the Libya, promoting national reconciliation among Libyans, holding free and fair presidential and parliamentary elections on set time according to the political roadmap, supported by the United Nations and the international community, and supporting the 5+5 Joint Military Committee, to end all forms of foreign armed presence.

Al Mnefi welcomed Spain’s participation in the international ministerial conference to support the stability of Libya, which confirms its keenness to restore stability to Libya, in a way that strengthens Libya’s relations with the EU countries, especially Spain, highlighting bilateral relations and his appreciation for the Spanish position in support of political solution of the Libyan crisis.

For his part, the Spanish Foreign Minister stressed that security of the Mediterranean partly hinges on security of Libya, stressing the importance of continuous cooperation with the Libyan authorities, in order to upgrade exchange between Libya and Spain in various fields, to serve the common interest of the two countries.
