President Al-Mashat inaugurates martyr Hassan Zaid Sports Hall and launches Al-Thawra Sports City afforestation project

His Excellency Marshal Mahdi Mohammed Al-Mashat, President of the Supreme Political Council, opened on Sunday the martyr Hassan Mohamed Zaid Multipurpose Sports Hall.

President Al-Mashat toured with the leadership of the Ministry of Youth and Sports on the exhibition containing photographs and illustrations of the crimes of the US-Saudi aggression against Yemenis and the systematic targeting of the sports sector in Yemen, as well as the features of Yemeni resilience and its stages and developments over more than eight years.

His Excellency the President commended the role of martyr of the homeland Hassan Zeid from the very outset of the aggression against Yemen until his martyrdom in the face of aggression and mobilization to address it, as well as his role through the reconciliation team, and seeking national pathways that promote resilience and community cohesion.

“The criminals thought they could extinguish the martyr Hassan Zaid, but in their heinous act they revived him and immortalized his jihadist history to remain a school for generations,” he said.

President Al-Mashat noted the efforts of the leadership of the Ministry of Youth and Sports in the completion of this project, which sets up a new phase of construction and the restoration of the facilities and sports facilities destroyed by the US-Saudi aggression in all provinces.

Minister of Youth and Sports Mohammed Hussein Al-Moayadi stressed that the project represents a step forward in the expansion of the sports sector and enables it to carry out multiple sporting purposes after years of deprivation and the fragmentation of efforts as a result of the aggression and the widespread devastation caused by it in sports facilities and its departure from readiness.

The achievements of youth and sport, in the light of the concerns of the revolutionary leadership, the Supreme Political Council and the Government of Salvation, were aimed at young people and giving them full care in order to develop their capacities, develop their creativity in various fields and oversee Yemen highly in foreign forums.

Minister Al-Moayadi considered naming the gymnasium after the martyr of the nation, Hassan Muhammad Zaid, as a form of loyalty to one of those who sacrificed their lives for their people and their country, and as a victory for the injustice of a people who were subjected to unjust aggression.

His Excellency Marshal Mehdi Al-Mashat, Chairman of the Supreme Political Council, also launched the project of afforestation of Al-Thawra Sports City Square within the framework of an afforestation plan covering the entire area of the Sports city space.

The opening and launching of a documentary film on the losses and damage caused by the aggression coalition’s targeting of youth and sports establishments, which numbered up to 114 in 17 provinces with losses amounting to more than $1 billion.

He was accompanied during the opening and inauguration by the Speaker of the Shura Council, Muhammad Hussein Al-Aidarous, Ministers of Information, Dhaifallah Al-Shami, and Culture Abdullah Al-Kibsi, and Ministers of Transport Abdul-Wahhab Al-Durrah, and his deputy Muhammad Al-Hashemi, Deputy Head of the Education and Culture Sector, Yahya Al-Mahatwari, and Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Dr. Radwan Al-Robae, And the Secretary General of the Municipality of the Capital, Amin Jamaan, the Undersecretary of the Projects Sector at the Ministry of Youth, Ramzi Al-Aghbari, the Assistant Undersecretary for the Sports Sector, Kamal Al-Sharif, and the Director of the Youth Welfare Fund, Abdul Hamid Al-Maghrabi.
