Libyan Center for Strategic Studies organizes symposium to combat corruption and its impact on national security and sustainable development.

Tripoli, The Libyan Center for Strategic Studies and National Security organized, Sunday in Tripoli, a symposium on anti-corruption entitled “Anti-corruption and its impact on national security and sustainable development”, in the presence of the Director of the Planning Institute, Chairman of the Development Committee 2020-2030 and Director General of the Libyan Center For strategic studies and national security, the head of the National Anti-Corruption Authority, and a number of professors and those interested in this regard.

The symposium, discussed the phenomenon of corruption that is destructive to society, strengthening the capabilities of the Libyan state in combating corruption and positive employment to combat the phenomenon of corruption in order to achieve sustainable development.

The scientific papers also included several themes, including the danger of corruption to sustainable development, the impact of corruption on stability and social aspects, the efforts of the National Anti-Corruption Authority, the government team, and international experiences to combat corruption. The head of the preparatory committee for the symposium, Issa Mukhtar Attia, told the Libyan News Agency that organizing this symposium comes in the context of cooperation between the National Center for Strategic Studies and the National Anti-Corruption Authority, because corruption is a global phenomenon that is rampant in most countries of the world.

Issa Attia added that the symposium aims, through scientific papers, to benefit from international experiences in drawing up a national strategy to combat corruption.

The National Center seeks to establish many intellectual and academic activities and events and research related to the preparation of a national strategy that contributes to the development and stability of Libya and combating this phenomenon.
