Italy renews call for exit of mercenaries and pledges to support stability in Libya.

Rome, Italian Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio reaffirmed that his country was committed to supporting stability of Libya, one of the southern Mediterranean countries close to Italy.

Luigi Di Maio said, in a press conference with his Greek counterpart, Nicholas Dendias in Rome on Monday, Di Maio said the international community should support the political process in Libya, and assist in the process of withdrawal of mercenaries and foreign fighters from the country.

Di Maio told reporters ‘I reiterated to Minister Dendias importance of supporting the political process in Libya, in accordance with a common and comprehensive approach, as well as the urgent need for the withdrawal of mercenaries and foreign fighters, in light of the political elections there, scheduled for December 24.
