New York, The President of the Presidential Council, “Mohamed Al-Mnifi”, valued the efforts of the Republic of China with Libya, its stand with the Libyan people and their choices, and the position of its government and its support for the new authorities, represented by the Presidential Council, the Government of National Unity, in unifying state institutions, foremost of which is, Unification of the military institution.

This came in a phone call between the President of the Presidential Council and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, to discuss bilateral relations between the two countries.

“Mnifi” said during the phone call, that the stability of Libya calls on us to cooperate with the Chinese government in the economic and reconstruction fields, which will contribute to efforts to achieve stability in Libya, referring to the historical relations with the Republic of China, calling for the return of Chinese companies to work in all areas. throughout Libya in the coming period.

Mnifi praised China’s handling of the Libyan issue through its policy that did not take sides, which makes it work anywhere in Libya. He said that we look forward to China’s support for the efforts we are making politically through its membership in the Security Council to restore the political stability in Libya.

In turn, the Chinese Foreign Minister, during this call, expressed his satisfaction with what the President of the Presidential Council spoke, stressing his support for the political process, and work to help the Presidential Council overcome the difficulties it is facing.

Wang Yi stressed China’s support for the efforts of the Presidential Council and the Government of National Unity, its rejection of any external interference in their work, and its support for the Council to complete the political process in a timely manner, calling for full respect for Libyan sovereignty and the sovereignty of its territory, and that his country is working on the role of mediation through Libya’s surrounding countries, and the United Nations, to solve the problems facing the political process, pointing out that the political process is going through a sensitive stage, and that China provides full support to the UN mission.

The Chinese Foreign Minister promised that his country will work through its membership in the Security Council to extend the mission’s work, help it accomplish its tasks, and lift the embargo on frozen Libyan funds.

With regard to the Corona pandemic, the Chinese Foreign Minister announced that the Chinese government has provided (400,000) doses of the vaccine, in addition to some supplies, requesting the competent authorities to communicate with China to coordinate their delivery to Libya.

In conclusion, the Chinese minister stressed that the Chinese government attaches great importance to the efforts of the Presidential Council and the Government of National Unity in the reconstruction in Libya, and that China is ready to support in the reconstruction and infrastructure, through Chinese companies, in accordance with the agreements previously concluded, and that the Chinese government will work to encourage Chinese companies to return to Libya.
