Foreign Minister Discuss with UN Envoy Outcome of Neighboring Countries Meeting and Libya Stability Initiative.

Tripoli, Foreign Minister Najla Al Mangoush discussed with UN Special Envoy to Libya Jan Kupis developments in Libya and efforts to end the crisis and conduct elections.

This came at a meeting held at the Foreign Ministry headquarters, attended Undersecretary for Political Affairs Mohamed Essa.

The two sides reviewed the outcome of the consultative meeting of Libya’s neighboring countries which was hosted by Algeria recently, whereby Kupis welcomed the final communique issued at the end of the meeting.

The Ministry said on its SMS page ‘the meeting focused on the encouraging results of the 5+5 , the total ceasefire and re-opening of the coastal highway linking Libya’s eastern to western regions, and the progress made in the detainees issue, adding that the two sides expressed optimism for what has been achieved by the Commission and hopes that it will crown its work with unifying the Military.

The meeting also dealt with the Libya Stability Initiative, and Libya’s effort to organize and chair an international conference next month, in a bid to put in practice the outcome of the Berlin 1 and 2 up to the elections in December.
