Aquila Saleh: We expect the political crisis in Libya to end before the end of this year

Cairo- Parliament Speaker Aquila Saleh confirmed, on Monday, that there is a great rapprochement with the State Council to resolve the political crisis in Libya, expecting a breakthrough in the crisis before the end of this year.

This came in a statement made by Aquila Saleh to the media after his arrival in Cairo today, to hold talks with the Secretary-General of the Arab League and the UN envoy in Cairo to resolve the political crisis in Libya, foremost of which is the mechanism for holding elections.

Saleh called on the Arab League to intervene to resolve the Libyan crisis, saying, “We had hoped that the Arab League would solve the Libyan crisis from the beginning, but due to circumstances beyond its control as a result of foreign interventions, it was unable to do so.”

The Speaker added that he will meet today with the Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, and the UN envoy to Libya, Abdullah Bathili, stressing that the House of Representatives is communicating with all parties, foremost of which is the State Council, as there is a rapprochement with it to resolve the crisis in the near future.
