Al-Manfi receives outcomes of Working Group dialogue on International Humanitarian Law for more than (500) Libyans.

Tripoli, The President of the Presidential Council, Mohamed Al-Manfi, received outcomes of the dialogues facilitated by the Working Group on International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights of the International Follow-up Committee on Libya, emanating from the Berlin Conference, for more than (500) Libyan participants from different segments of society.

This came during his reception of the group, consisting of the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Libya, Dolf Hoekyoning and the director of the Department of Human Rights, Transitional Justice and the Rule of Law at the UN Mission to Libya, Ms. Soki Naqra.

The media office of the Head of the Presidential Council stated that Al-Manfi stressed during the meeting that the Presidential Council attaches the utmost importance to the issue of strengthening human rights situation in Libya and welcomes the efforts of the working group, which must be complementary to national efforts, and based on the foundations of participation and inclusiveness.

The office added that the Dutch ambassador and the director of the human rights department at the mission paid tribute to the efforts of the Presidency Council in order to achieve national reconciliation, which was launched through the convening of the preparatory forum for national reconciliation. The office also thanked the President for his personal efforts that led recently to the release of a number of prisoners.
