Al-Koni stresses the importance of economic and security integration between Libya and the Sahel countries

Tunisia- Representative in the Presidential Council, Musa Al-Koni, stressed today, Tuesday, the importance of economic and security integration between Libya and the Sahel countries, with its human resources and capabilities.

In his speech during the opening of the regional conference on border cooperation between Libya and the Sahel countries, which was held in Tunisia, Al-Koni stressed the need to come up with complementary solutions, based on what was reached during his visits to neighboring countries, reiterating the need for all parties to bear their responsibility, to share the burdens. related to cross-border issues.

Al-Koni called for the need to form joint committees that would reach effective solutions, to find solutions to the common threats to the region, stressing that the desert is an area that gathers and does not separate.

According to the Presidential Council on its official page, the conference is attended by, in addition to Libya, the five African Sahel countries, the representative of the European Union to the Sahel countries, “Emanuela Del Rey”, and a number of ministers of the Sahel countries and representatives of the European Union.

The Presidential Council said that Musa al-Koni’s presidency of the conference, which is organized by the European Union, comes after his visits to neighboring countries, and his expanded meetings with the leaders of the European Union in Brussels a few months ago, at the headquarters of the European Union Commission, to find ways of regional cooperation with Libya on cross-border issues such as illegal immigration, enhancing the use of technology in border security and combating organized crime.

The Libyan delegation participating in the conference, in addition to Al-Koni, includes the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee in the House of Representatives, Youssef Al-Aqouri, the Minister of Social Affairs, Wafaa Al-Kilani, and the Chief of the General Staff of the Libyan Army, Lieutenant General Muhammad Al-Haddad.
