Tripoli, -The Head of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Al Dabaiba, affirmed his support for holding any activities that support the dream of Libyans to hold elections, end the transitional phases and all legislative, advisory and executive bodies.

This came in a speech during his participation on Tuesday in the opening session of the Civil Society Conference towards Elections held at the headquarters of the High National Elections Commission, under the slogan “Together towards achieving elections”.

Al Dabaiba praised the electoral simulation conducted by the Ministry of Interior and its technical coordination with the High Electoral Commission, which confirms the readiness of the government and the Commission.

For his part, the head of the High Electoral Commission, Imad Al-Sayeh, said “what hindered the electoral process on December 24 was the flawed election law, and that what is disrupting it now is the same as the electoral law.”

Al Sayeh reiterated that the Commission was prepared to communicate with everyone without exception, and to respond to any initiative that enhances confidence in securing the electoral process.

The conference is organized by the Election Supporters Organization, with the participation of a large number of civil society organizations, political parties and civic activists from across the country.
