Abul-Ghait: We are disturbed by the Tripoli clashes, and we urge everyone to preserve the ceasefire agreement

Cairo- The Secretary-General of the Arab League, “Ahmed Abul-Ghait”, expressed today, Saturday, his dismay over the clashes that took place in the capital, Tripoli, last night.

In a statement, Abul Ghait called on all Libyan parties to preserve the ceasefire agreement and prevent its collapse, as it is the most prominent and most important achievement witnessed by the Libyan arena since October 2020.

He also called for the implementation of all its provisions and entitlements, foremost of which is the item on the expulsion of mercenaries and foreign fighters from the country.

And his spokesman conveyed his warning against the return of the option to resort to arms again in Libya, which resulted in nothing but bloodshed and waste of the country’s wealth to no avail.

He urged the Libyans to continue their meetings and dialogues with greater momentum than before, to reach a broad consensus on the constitutional basis necessary for holding national elections as soon as possible.
