Abu Jannah discusses with UNICEF support for Libya

Tripoli-Deputy Prime Minister and Acting Minister of Health Ramadan Abu Jannah met in the capital Tripoli on Thursday with the representative of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in Libya, Mikkeli Servadi, who took office about two months ago.

The Ministry of Health Communication Office reported that the two sides discussed support provided by UNICEF to Libya, and establishment of a mechanism for the support to be provided in 2023.

Abu Janah also discussed with the UNICEF representative the steps to treat patients with muscular dystrophy in Libya, and agreed to assign a medical team from Italy similar to the first team, stressing the need for coordination between the Italian Embassy and the international organization to facilitate all procedures for the medical evaluation team.

During the meeting, Abu Jannah stressed the need to coordinate with the Office of International Cooperation at the Ministry of Health in the types of support provided, provided that it is only done according to the need through the competent departments of the Ministry.
