A broad Libyan-Japanese bilateral business meeting via Zoom.

A Libyan-Japanese bilateral business meeting was held, Wednesday, in the office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation via Zoom.

Sources of the Public Authority for Communications and Informatics stated that the meeting included several Libyan sectors chaired by the Director of the Department of Asian and Australian Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, while the Japanese side was headed by the Chargé d’affaires at the Japanese Embassy in Libya, with the participation of about (50) sectors such as companies, government agencies, and specialized Japanese bodies and institutions in various fields.

The sources stated that the two sides discussed means of cooperation in various fields such as infrastructure, oil, gas, electricity, renewable energies, local and international banking sector, communications and information technology, and how to develop a cooperation mechanism that could be the focal point for foreign companies in terms of how to register, function, protect investors and provide them with a safe environment. .

The representative of the Communications and Informatics Public Authority, Eng. Osama Abu Azza, expressed in a speech at the meeting, the importance of this cooperation for the Communications and Informatics Public Authority, especially in capacity building in the field of communications and information technology, creating job opportunities and developing communications infrastructure.

At the end of the meeting, the two sides agreed on the importance of continuing coordination and holding such meetings to achieve these goals.

Undersecretary of the Ministry of Housing and Construction for Public Affairs, the affected areas, representatives of Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Oil, Ministry of Industry and Minerals, Central Bank of Libya, General Authority for Communications and Informatics, the General Authority for Investment Promotion and Privatization Affairs, National Oil Corporation, Executive Authority for Renewable Energies, Export Development Center and the General Union of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry participated in the meeting.
