Public Prosecutor orders release of prisoners in Mahweet, speedy settlement of cases

The Public Prosecutor, Judge Dr. Muhammad Al-Dailami, on Wednesday ordered the release of a number of prisoners under investigation and execution of custodial sentences who had served three-quarters of their term in prison in Mahweet province.

These directives came during the Public Prosecutor’s visit to the prosecution offices and prisons in Al-Tawila, Khabat Al-Nuwairah, Hofash, and Al-Madina districts in the province and on the occasion of the anniversary of the Prophet’s birthday.

During the visit, Judge Al-Dailami inspected the progress of the work at the prosecution offices and prisons and the cooperation and coordination between them, the courts, and judicial officers to decide on cases, especially those involving prisoners.

Interior Minister confirms closeness of Yemenis’ connection with Great Prophet

Bani Al-Harith Directorate in the capital secretariat organized today,Wednesday, an expanded preparatory meeting to participate in commemorating the events and activities of the Prophet’s birthday in the directorate and to mobilize for the central event that will be held in Al-Sabeen Square on the twelfth of Rabi’ al-Awwal.

In the meeting, Interior Minister, Major General Abdul Karim Al-Houthi, affirmed the close connection of Yemeni people with the Greatest Messenger and the Final Prophet, and who celebrate his birth, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family, in a way that befits the greatness of this occasion and its precious place in the hearts of all Yemenis.

Al-Sharif called on everyone to mobilize and participate widely among the sons and sheikhs of Bani Al-Harith District in the central event in Al-Sabeen Square on the 12th of Rabi’ al-Awwal, to celebrate the anniversary of the birth of Light and Mercy and to paint a Muhammadan painting befitting the status of the greatest Prophet.

While Sheikh Muhammad Jumaan Al-Jadari and Sheikh Ali Al-Abyad explained in a speech to the people of the directorate, that shrine is the shrine of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and his family, and that celebrating his honorable birth has great honor and great sanctity, as it is the guide of the nation and its way out of darkness into light.

KSrelief to Implement Second Phase of Return to School Project in Yemen

The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) yesterday signed a cooperation agreement with a civil society institution to implement the second phase of the return to school project in Yemen’s Hajjah, Abyan, Hadramout and Mayyun Island, in Taiz; 13,300 individuals are expected to benefit from the agreement.

KSrelief Assistant General Supervisor Eng. Ahmed bin Ali Al-Baiz signed the agreement at the center headquarters in Riyadh.

The agreement stipulates equipping 95 classrooms, providing educational materials, such as school bags and uniforms, as well as creating jobs for low-income families (beneficiaries of previous training and empowerment projects) by having school bags produced locally.

The latest undertaking comes within the framework of a series of educational projects implemented by the Kingdom, through its humanitarian arm KSrelief, to create a safe educational environment in Yemen and ensure its sustainability in targeted areas by carrying out different activities.

SEVEN Announces SAR1.1 Billion Entertainment Destination in Yanbu

Saudi Entertainment Ventures (SEVEN), a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Public Investment Fund (PIF), has been awarded AL BAWANI CO. LTD and UCC Saudi joint venture contract to build the new entertainment destination in Yanbu; construction is already underway, a SEVEN press release said.

With an investment value of over SAR1.1 billion, SEVEN’s entertainment destination in Yanbu is located along the seafront promenade on Al Nawras Island. The entertainment destination will offer visitors a wide variety of experiences designed to engage all age groups from the local community and the surrounding areas.

According to the press release, Yanbu is designed by Gensler, a global architecture, design and planning firm. The architecture of this entertainment destination is inspired by the city’s heritage; it is a historic port located on the Kingdom’s western coast on the Red Sea. The design is a celebration of water, with elements of the beach and the sea threaded throughout.

Chairman of SEVEN Abdullah AlDawood said: “Our entertainment destination in Yanbu will provide residents and visitors with a wealth of new and exciting experiences while supporting the city’s rapidly developing entertainment sector. SEVEN’s entertainment destination is inspired by Yanbu’s beautiful natural seascape, embodying the city’s rich history as one of the oldest ports in the Kingdom.”

According to AL BAWANI CO. LTD. Chairman and Group CEO Fakher Al Shawaf, “SEVEN’s investment will help Yanbu’s growing population meet its entertainment needs. AL BAWANI is well-positioned to deliver this unique destination to meet the ever-growing aspirations of Saudis.”

UCC Holding President Ramez Al-Khayyat said the company will “leverage our extensive experience in building entertainment destinations to deliver the project on time, to the highest international standards”.

SEVEN Yanbu, the press release said, will be home to a highly immersive carnival-themed family entertainment center with world class rides. Other attractions will include a Clip ‘n Climb facility providing 30 climbing challenges, a junior family entertainment center, a state-of-the-art 10-screen cinema, a futuristic 10-lane bowling experience, a fun-filled indoor golf course, and a wide variety of local and international retail and dining experiences.

SEVEN is investing more than SAR50 billion to build 21 entertainment destinations to provide unique and innovative world-class entertainment experiences; it has secured, global partnerships from the sector.

SEVEN announced recently that it had begun construction at its entertainment destinations in Al Hamra districts of Riyadh and Tabuk. Its upcoming projects are located in 14 cities across the Kingdom: Riyadh, Kharj, Makkah, Jeddah, Taif, Dammam, Khobar, Al Ahsa, Madinah, Yanbu, Abha, Jazan, Buraidah and Tabuk.

KSrelief Supervisor General Tours Health Facilities in Honduras

Supervisor General of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) Dr. Abdullah Al Rabeeah visited yesterday several health facilities in the Republic of Honduras.

Accompanied by Vice Minister of Health Suani Montalvan and Saudi Ambassador to the United Mexican States and Non-Resident Ambassador to the Republic of Honduras Haitham Al-Malki, Dr. Al Rabeeah visited the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the Escuela Hospital in Tegucigalpa and was briefed on the unit’s work mechanism and the health services provided to newborns.

He also visited the Burns Unit at the Children’s Hospital in Tegucigalpa and commended the hospital’s efforts to alleviate the suffering of children and their families.

He was also briefed on the urgent needs of the health sector in Honduras.

KSrelief Supervisor General Meets with Minister of Health of Honduras

Advisor at the Royal Court and General Supervisor of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Rabeeah met yesterday with Health Minister of the Republic of Honduras Dr. Jose Manuel Matheu in the capital city of Honduras, Tegucigalpa.

The two officials discussed ways of cooperation in the humanitarian and relief fields, particularly the challenges the health sector faces in Honduras.

Matheu praised the Kingdom’s humanitarian efforts, exerted through KSrelief, to help people around the world.

Their meeting was attended by non-resident Saudi Ambassador to Honduras Haytham bin Hasan Al-Malki.
