Launch of Cultural Radio of Tawergha.

Tawergha, The launch of the Tawergha Cultural Radio was celebrated in the city of Tawergha within the framework of support offered by the Ministry of Culture.

The opening ceremony was attended by a delegation from the Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development, in the presence of Chairman of Tawergha Local Council, notables of the city, representatives of local media and those interested in cultural matters in the city.”

The radio will highlight cultural activities, contribute to the local tradition culture of Tawergha and help disseminate awareness and tolerance, in its social programs.

The radio broadcasts its programs on the 94.4 FM frequency.

HNEC Inserts Nomination List Forms for Candidacy for Presidential and Parliamentary Elections.

Tripoli, The High National Elections Commission has inserted the nomination list forms for candidacy for the presidential and parliamentary elections, as stipulated for in the electoral laws, among the documents required for candidacy.

The Commission explained, in a statement on its official SMS page, that by including these forms, it aimed to allow sufficient time for candidates to prepare their documents and submit them within the prescribed period for applying for candidacy.

The head of the High National Elections Commission, Emad Al-Sayeh, confirmed that this procedure was designed to allow stakeholders to challenge the names mentioned in them within 48 hours from the date of publication, in addition to enabling voters to confirm their names and the registered centers to receive their electoral cards in a process that will be announced later.

Election Commission: UN Development Program (UNDP) Signs up with Government of Japan to support the (People) project.

Tripoli, The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) signed with the Government of Japan in Tripoli on Sunday an agreement to support the (People) project, in the presence of the Chairman of the Board of the High National Election Commission, Emad Al Sayeh

The Commission said in a circulation on Sunday, that this agreement aims to provide technical and advisory support, which the United Nations mission will supervise in the elections scheduled for next December.

President of HNEC Announces Commission’s Plan for Conduct of Presidential and Parliamentary Elections.

Tripoli, The Head of the High National Elections Commission, Emad Al Sayeh, announced Sunday, the commission’s plan for conduct of presidential and parliamentary elections, based on what was stated in Law No. (1) of 2021, regarding election of the president of the state and his powers and Law No. (2) regarding the election House of Representatives issued on September 8 and October 5, respectively this year.

Al Sayeh explained, at a press conference held at the Commission’s headquarters in Tripoli that the plan was based on synchronization of the two processes in terms of procedures, provided that the polling day is set for the first round of electing the head of state based on a proposal submitted by the commission to the House of Representatives for approval. The second round of the presidential elections coincides with the parliamentary elections on a polling day to be determined according to a proposal from the Commission referred to the House of Representatives for approval, and the Commission Council will announce the results of each of the two processes simultaneously when each of them is completed.

The head of the commission said that a preemptive process will be launched tomorrow, Monday, that includes publishing the lists of voters registered in the commission’s database in the polling centers, each according to his choice and registration, in order to allow stakeholders to challenge the names within 48 hours from the date of publication, in addition to enabling voters to confirm their names in the centers where they are registered for the purpose of receiving their electoral cards in a process that will be announced later.

Today, he added, the forms of endorsement lists that the electoral laws required of candidates for the presidential and parliamentary elections will be published on the commission’s page on the Internet, accompanied by the technical instructions that the candidates must abide by in preparing these lists, to give enough time to prepare and submit them as one of the documents required for candidacy.

Al Sayeh indicated that opening the door for accepting candidates for the presidential and parliamentary elections will be available once the necessary technical and logistical preparations for this stage are completed, pointing out that the High National Election Commission plans to launch this stage in the first half of next month, which will coincide with the process of distributing voter cards in the centers in which they registered.

The head of the High National Elections Commission sent a message of reassurance to the Libyan people and all political parties; the Commission will not deviate from its commitments towards implementing free and fair elections that guarantee the rights and consensus for all, and that it will not tolerate any attempt to undermine its reputation or infringe on its procedures.

Helicopter Ferrying Cash to the Jumhouria Bank in Tarhuna Crashes without injuries.

Tripoli, A helicopter carrying cash to the Jumhouria Bank in Tarhuna has crashed but no was injured, a source from the Central Bank of Libya announced.

The helicopter (P17) lost balance during landing and fell in the vicinity of the city, none of the members of crew was injured, and the liquidity was intact and would be delivered to the bank, the sources said.

HNEC announces press conference for Sunday to review latest developments in electoral process.

Tripoli, The High National Electoral Commission (HNEC) announced that it will hold a press conference, Sunday, October 24, 2021, during which it will discuss the latest developments in the field of electoral processes and the measures it has taken to ensure its commitment and pledged towards implementing free, fair and credible elections that fulfill the will and hopes of the Libyans.

In a statement, the Commission called on all media outlets and journalists to attend this conference, which will be held at 12 noon at the Commission’s media center located in Sidi Al-Masry in the capital, Tripoli. The Commission expressed its aspiration for free, patriotic and meaningful media support, with the true aim of which the Libyans are awaiting on December 24 to illuminate their path towards building a civil state and establishing the rules of democracy, stressing that no voice is louder than the voice of the nation, and no word is stronger than the words of its people.

The statement indicated that this step comes within the framework of its preparations to implement the benefits of December 24, 2021, and in order to achieve the principle of transparency in its implementation of electoral processes and to inform the Libyan people in general and the media in particular with the developments of their implementation of legislation and laws in the matter of electing the head of state and the House of Representatives.
