Biden Selects Middle East Expert As CIA Chief

Washington-US President-elect Joe Biden was reported to have selected veteran diplomat William Burns to the post of CIA Director. Biden held several diplomatic posts, serving under both democratic and Republican presidents. He served as deputy secretary of state under former President Barrack Obama, ambassador to Russia and Jordan, and assistant secretary of State for near east affairs. He is currently President of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, an international think tank. Biden said in a statement circulated by the President-elect office 'Burns is the typical diplomat who has decades-long experience internationally to keep our country and people safe and secured.' The 64 years old had taken responsibility of the Libyan file and visited Libya repeatedly when he was Deputy Secretary of State of the United States.
