Tripoli, The National Oil Company has declared a force Majeure at Al Sharara oil fields operated by the Akakos Oil Company, following the sabotage and stealing carried out by a group of outlaws at the facility. The company has called for an unconditional evacuation by the armed group of the facility, voicing its deep concern over failure by the Oil Installation Guard Force to protect the fields and the personnel. It also called on notables and local leaders in the area to intervene for to protect national interests, and restore peace and security at the installation, and to consider the efforts being made by the NOC to improve living conditions for the locals, noting that such actions will undermine chances of economic improvements. The NOC Chairman Mustafa Sun'allah said the armed group constitute a threat to the fields and the future of our country. He renewed NOC commitment to improve the living conditions for the residents of the southern region.
