  • Tobruk, The Foreign Committee of the House of Representatives held an expanded meeting with its counterpart in the Italian House of Representatives via video call to discuss joint coordination and strengthening cooperation between them. During the meeting, the two sides discussed the latest political developments and means of Italy’s support for stability in Libya and the strengthening of cooperation between the two sides in all fields, foremost of which is parliamentary cooperation. The two sides affirmed the importance of relations between the two friendly countries and their keenness to coordinate and work on common issues, most notably the migration issue, enhancing trade cooperation, in addition to working on developing southern Libya. The two sides agreed to continue meetings and organize reciprocal visits in order for parliamentary diplomacy to support rapprochement between the two friendly countries at all levels. The meeting was attended by the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee in the House of Representatives, Yusef Al-Aqouri, the Vice-Chairman of the Committee, Hassan Al-Barghouti, and a number of members of the committee. On the Italian side, the meeting was attended by the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the House of Representatives, “Peroni Fassino” and a number of deputies, in addition to the ambassadors of the two countries.
