Manama, The first-ever Baby Games is all set to commence tomorrow with more than 1,000 kids from 29nurseries and 37 pre-schools in the fray.
It is organised by the Bahrain Olympic Committee and is taking place at the Bahrain Volleyball Association Hall in Riffa.
This event will feature four different sports athletics, gymnastics, football and basketball, and targets 2 to 4 years children in an attempt to create an awareness among youngsters to practise sports exercises, and promote the Olympic principles and values at a young age.
The games action will take place at the Bahrain Sports Federation for People with Disabilities, located at Isa Sports City in Riffa.
Organising Committee, headed by chairman, Lounes Madene, had a technical meeting with representatives of the participants as well as the Education Ministry and the Ministry of Labour and Social Development at the National Stadium to explain the games rules and regulations to the participants ahead of the games kick off.
Madene expressed satisfaction with the training programme in all four sports, and pointed out that a technical meeting was fruitful.
Meanwhile, the games has received a major sponsorship boost from Mothercare and Lulu Group, according to BOC marketing head Mahmood Ashori, who said the sponsorship reflects both companies' commitment to support national sporting events.
