Premier lauds professionalism of Saudi press

Manama, His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa received at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel a delegation comprising Editors-in-Chief and Managing Directors of Saudi newspapers and the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), led by Culture and Information Ministry Undersecretary Dr. Nasser Al Hajilan and Saudi Ambassador to Bahrain Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulmalik Al-Shaikh, on the occasion of their visit to Bahrain as guests of honour in Khalifa bin Salman Press Award distribution ceremony.

HRH the Premier lauded openness and development of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under the leadership of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud. He stressed Saudi Arabia's international influential role and ongoing development and economic projects thanks to the kingdom's policies as well as the decisiveness and resolve of its leadership. He said Saudi Arabia is a march of glory spearheaded and made stronger by its successive monarchs. He also underscored strong fraternal relations between Bahrain and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, describing Saudi Arabia as the backbone of the Arab policies. He pointed out the international support to it which stands as a proof of the kingdom's unwavering and powerful stances.

HRH the Prime Minister emphasised the place occupied by Saudi Arabia for all given its stances and support to brotherly and friendly countries, pointing out that attempts to drive wedges will inevitably be doomed to failure as long as the nation is throwing its weight behind the banner of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia out of belief that its power is strength for all. He also lauded Saudi Arabia's press and its international role with 17 daily newspapers directed at the enemies of the kingdom and the nation. He commended the role of the Saudi press in defending Arab and Islamic issues, paying tribute to the GCC competencies in the journalistic field. He directed the columnists in the GCC countries to document their writings in order to highlight the role of the GCC press in promoting the status of the GCC countries worldwide.

HRH the Premier hailed choosing the Saudi press to be the guest of honour at his press award distribution ceremony, which, he said, epitomizes deep-rooted fraternal relations between both countries and peoples. He praised the high professionalism and commitment of the Saudi press to the criteria and ethics of the profession, pointing out richness of the GCC scene in press and media competencies. He also described strong and growing brotherly ties binding Bahrain and Saudi Arabia as a unique model of fraternal relations.

HRH the Prime Minister affirmed that the responsible role played by Saudi Arabia at this crucial phase of the history of the region has thwarted plots targeting security and stability of the Arab and Islamic nations. He asserted that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is standing decisively against all challenges threatening the present and future of the peoples in the region. He noted that the Arab and Islamic nation has regained taking the initiative and its influential role thanks to the conscious leadership of Saudi Arabia. He also praised the steps taken by the Saudi Crown Prince to boost the development and modernisation march in the kingdom and bolster the welfare of the Saudi people.

HRH the Premier underlined Bahrain's support to all measures taken by Saudi Arabia to maintain its security and stability which, he said, is an integral part of Bahrain's security and stability. He recalled in this respect Saudi Arabia's supportive stances to Bahrain in all circumstances which embody strong and growing fraternal relations between both countries and peoples.

The delegation extended thanks and respect to HRH the Prime Minister for his keenness on further cementing bilateral fraternal relations, stressing that his wisdom and farsighted vision have earned him regional and international respect and appreciation. They also voiced happiness about choosing the Saudi press to be the guest of honour at his press award distribution ceremony which reflects strong brotherly ties binding both countries.
